My Story
As a Nigerian girl who moved to America in 2014, I carried a sense of displacement, of not quite belonging. But crochet changed that.
What started as a therapeutic outlet quickly became a revelation: with just yarn and imagination, I could create entire worlds, garments that transformed me and anyone who wore them. Crochet became my language of empowerment, a way to reclaim my identity and channel my struggles into beauty.
Through my designs, I want to share that same power. My work is not just fashion-it's wearable art, built to make people feel like gods. Every Couture Crochet piece I create carries the intention of divinity, creativity, and transformation. Because I believe we are all capable of embodying greatness, and through art, we can all step into our own power.
When I moved from Nigeria to America, I struggled with anemia and the cold winters hit me harder than I ever expected. I couldn’t afford a proper winter jacket at the time, but I didn’t want to just settle for being cold. I wanted warmth and I wanted style. Out of that need, I invented my crochet fur jacket. I challenged myself to design something that could be both the warmest jacket I’d ever owned and a fashion statement at the same time. What started as a necessity became a piece that represents resilience, creativity, and luxury born out of struggle.
